“Our dangerous and unstable world urgently needs mature men... if the human race is going to go on at all into the future.” - Robert Moore
THE TASK AT HAND
We find ourselves in a time of intersecting crises—ecological, social, and spiritual—that are intimately tied to a crisis of the masculine psyche. Too often, the modern world views the struggles of men as a fundamental flaw in their nature, labeling the masculine as 'broken' or inherently destructive.
We believe the current 'culture of emptiness' is the result of a profound loss of initiation; a world where the 'Boy' has been handed the keys to the kingdom because he was never taught the way to the soul.
Our work is not about fixing men, but about regenerating the ancient, downward pathways of maturing masculinity.
By descending into the 'dark soil' of soul work—facing our grief, feeding the old stories, and apprenticing ourselves to the living earth—we begin to transform atrophying isolation into a generative presence.
We gather to ripen the man so that he may, in turn, become a steward of a world worthy of his descendants."
The Cascadia Men’s Conference is a collective of men inspired by the rich mythopoetic tradition, dedicated to stewarding a culture of emergence, depth, and healthy relationality. We are fathers, brothers, sons, craftsmen, artists, writers, farmers, therapists, poets, and lovers of the wild.
What unites us is a shared love of story, wisdom, and ancestral remembrance that animates our understanding of what it means to be a man today. We gather not to fix ourselves because men or masculinity are “broken”, but to return to what is essential, what is sacred, and to a culture worthy of our descendants.
